Swaroop (Shyam) gets insulted by his sister-in-law for being jobless and leaves the house to make something of himself. He stumbles upon Mala (Suraiya) and works for her father in their farm. Soon, Mala falls in love with him, but her family disapproves of Swaroop and marries her off to another man. Heartbroken, Swaroop wanders around aimlessly, until Mala's girlfriends decide to intervene.
