Pyarelal's father is disappointed in him because Pyarelal loses his job and cannot contribute money to his sister’s wedding. Feeling dejected, he leaves home, determined not to return home until he becomes a successful actor. On his professional journey he meets a pretty actress Asha (Geeta Bali) and both fall in love with each other. With Asha’s help, he starts acting in the theatre, and achieves quick success. Since then he regularly sends home money and gifts. But when he finally returns to meet his family, he is shocked to see them in distress. The money and gifts that he had sent home, all vanished. Moreover, his mother is dead, his father and sister are missing, and his sister’s wedding is called off. While his brother cannot support himself, his sister-in-law has a dark secret that she cannot tell anyone.
